Local Dance Team Seeking Donations for Upcoming Fundraiser

The Parker and Aurora-based Miller’s Dance Force (MDF) team members are excitedly preparing for the upcoming competitive dance season with the First Annual “Dancing Kids Benefit Show” and silent auction.  This fun event will not only help to raise money for the group, it will also bolster awareness for supporting the arts programs in nearby communities and schools.
Dancers are asking the Aurora and Parker area businesses for any and all donations for the silent auction portion of the fundraiser.  Gift cards, coupons, gift baskets, service donations, collectible items  and more would greatly help this worthy cause.  Community members and show attendees can bid on the items and proceeds will partially go towards a purchase of an MDF Trailer for transporting props; the remainder will be donated to the nonprofit arts organization,  Think 360 Arts.   Auction items will be available for bidding starting Jan. 7.

Please contact Dottie Lima if you would be willing to donate an item or need further information at dottielima@yahoo.com.
In January, the community is invited to join the dancers and their families on Saturday, Jan. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gateway High School.  Located at 1300 S. Sable Blvd. in  Aurora, the high school theater will be the perfect location to experience  various group dances as the 57-member team prepares for the upcoming 2012 competition season.  Along with Miller’s Dance Force performances, guests will be treated to special presentations by the Gateway Olympians.  Tickets are $5 at the door.
Miller’s Dance Force is the competition group of Aurora’s own, Miller’s Dance Studio.  MDF is made up of Miller’s Dance students between the ages of five and 18.  The company competes each year and has performed throughout Colorado, at Disneyland and Disneyworld, in the Bahamas and on two cruise ships.  MDF dancers study with master teachers and have received numerous scholarships, awards and more each season.
