Cattle Crossing 5K & Family Fun Trek

with RNK Running & Walking
Giddy up! Grab your cowboy hat and stick horse because this event is going to make ya’ll shout YEEHAW as we celebrate the beginning of summer and Parker’s rich rural history!

In-Person 5K Cost: $40
In-Person Family Fun Trek Cost: $25 for family of up to 4, $7 per additional person
Virtual 5K Cost: $30
Register by May 25 to guarantee event hat! Registration closes June 18, 2021 at 5 p.m.; event-day registration will not be available.
In-Person Options: Part of the Parker Parks and Recreation Run Series, this unique themed run/walk is professionally timed (5K) and western costumes are encouraged! The Family Fun Trek is about 1 mile of laid-back, outdoorsy fun, which includes a “duck hunt” for the kids. Registered 5K participants receive a commemorative trucker hat, *which is available to purchase separately for Family Fun Trek registrants. All in-person event registrations include pancakes from Flippin’ Flapjacks and a souvenir bib number.
Virtual 5K Option: Experience all of the benefits of a 5K run/walk on your own time, at your own location! Registrants receive the commemorative trucker hat and custom event bib.

Parker Run Series
Parker Recreation hosts four family-friendly races each year as part of the annual Run Series, which is expected to promote community and active living to more than 2,500 participants over the course of the year!
Any proceeds from the events will benefit the Town of Parker Scholarship Program, which helps Parker families and/or individuals with limited financial resources participate in Town Recreation programs and facilities.

Part of the Parker Parks and Recreation Run Series, this event is professionally timed (5K and 10K.) The Family Trek is about 1.3 miles of laid-back, outdoorsy fun. Registered participants will receive a race tech shirt, a delicious post-race pancake breakfast and a chance to win prizes. The overall male/female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in each of the following divisions of the 5K and 10K will be awarded: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+. All results are determined using “gun time,” meaning the timing starts simultaneously for all participants in the category. The free kids’ Dash follows the race for children 8 and under; no registration necessary.

Youth Fitness & Wellness
Getting Started
Youth ages 13 to 15 must complete a mandatory free Fitness Equipment Orientation before utilizing the weight and cardiovascular areas within the Recreation Center and Fieldhouse. They must also complete an orientation prior to participating in any group fitness classes.
Youth ages 13 and 14 are required to be with an adult in the fitness areas while working out. After they’ve completed the Fitness Equipment Orientation, youth age 15 may be in the fitness areas by themselves.
Free Fitness Equipment Orientations are offered each Monday at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. at the Recreation Center. Registration is not necessary. Orientations include a demonstration on the proper use of equipment, weight room etiquette and proper equipment safety
