The historic downtown area of Parker is a step back in time to a kinder gentler world during the holiday season with scenes like this that remind you of Little House on the Prairie, Mayberry, Stars Hollow and Walton’s Mountain. We are OK with that.

Holiday Events for friends and family in Douglas County
There are so many things to do this holiday season in the area, it’s hard to keep track. Hopefully, this list of “things to do” for this weekend will help you to create your new simpler Christmas holiday traditions. This year many residents are working to reduce the “getting” and increase the giving, not of things necessarily, but your time, attention and care to those in your life that really matter the most. Let’s step back to smell the holly instead of rushing from store to store buying things instead of memories.

2020 Holiday Events from the Town of Parker
Hometown Holiday Experience Presented by Xfinity
Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 20
Downtown Parker will come alive for the 2020 holiday season. The Town of Parker has added some fun décor around downtown Parker for the holidays. Visit Candy Cane Lane at Discovery Park, Toyland on Mainstreet and Santa’s Workshop at O’Brien Park for a fun family selfie – it might even be a great addition to your family holiday cards!
The Town of Parker has also invited seasonal holiday characters to join us downtown this holiday season. Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, one of Santa’s elves, a toy soldier, a gingerbread man and a Christmas tree and will stroll through downtown noon to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 20. Please remember to keep a social distance of six feet from these characters as they entertain.
Where in Downtown Parker is the Xfinity Elf?
In addition to the festive holiday lights and décor the Town invites you to an Elf Around Town Scavenger Hunt! This holiday season, on Saturdays and Sundays leading up to Christmas (Nov. 28 through Dec. 20), the Town of Parker and Xfinity invite you and your family to find one of Santa’s real live elves around downtown Parker. If you see the Xfinity elf around town, take a picture of him and post the picture on the Town’s Facebook page or email us sharing where around town you saw him! Everyone that does this will be entered into a drawing for a TV! *Town staff and families not eligible to participate.
